Spicy Margarita

MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE COCKTAIL…

I love nothing more than a spicy margarita cocktail to sip on. Especially with this lovely warm weather we’ve been having. I love sitting in our tiny courtyard, sipping on this delicious nectar, enjoying my evening. I have my gorgeous friend Laura to thank for introducing me to this cocktail. And now, you have me to thank for your new go-to recipe this Spring.

With a four day weekend coming up, this is certainly something you’re going to enjoy while chilling at home. The best thing about this recipe is most of the ingredients are already in your home (minus the tequila and Cointreau) and you can edit this to be as spicy or as mild you’ll like. If you’re really not into spice, you can totally turn this into a normal margarita. But do try it with the spice, it makes such a difference! If you do try this out, please let me know on Instagram, I want to see you enjoying your cocktails this weekend!

SPICY MARGARITA’S.

You will need:

50ml tequila
25ml Cointreau
1 lime juice
1/2- 1 whole chilli pepper
Splash of orange juice
Lime wedge to serve

First, pour salt onto a plate (make sure it’s fine salt). Coat the rim of a glass with lime juice from a wedge and place your glass upside down in the salt and turn. Once the rim is fully coated, turn back upright, place some ice cubes in it and put to one side.

Next, fill a cocktail shaker with ice halfway, and add the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and orange juice. Slice up your chilli and place in the shaker. Put the lid on tightly and give it a good shake until it’s too cold to touch or the glass becomes frosty. Strain the liquid into your chilled glass. Take some of the chilli slices and add to the glass and finish off with a wedge of lime.
