Looking Forward to the Second Half of the Year
It’s Been a While…
I appreciate that the technical halfway point of the year was in June. However, I’ve always seen September as a fresh start, a reset point if you will. It’s that back-to-school feeling. And whilst I’ve been out of education for a while, I still love using September as a reset moment, a chance to look at what I want to achieve for the rest of the year.
It’s been a minute since I spoke to you. It’s been a while since I’ve done any form of content creation that wasn’t on TikTok. Truth is during my home office makeover, I hit a wall. You could say it was another classic bout of burnout. It’s taken me a while to reset, along with also questioning a lot of stuff. What do I want from life, where do I see myself and my family in the next five years?
All this leads to this post. Which I sort of feel is more for me, setting intentions for the universe to hold me accountable. For starters, the blog is staying, it’s always going to be around. This is the original baby, and even if no one reads blogs anymore, I’m still going to type. Although I feel blogs are making a comeback shortly,
Also, I’m back on YouTube! I took a massive break from long-form video and I’ve been filming again. This time, I’m keeping it short and sweet. My goal is to keep videos under 30 minutes, 25 minutes is the goal. These videos are going to be uploaded every other Thursday. However, I’ve got some more content coming your way…
My Goals for the Rest of the Year.
If you remember this post, I had some lofty goals that I wanted to reach for 2024. Looking back at the goals, I’ve managed to achieve quite a few of these goals. My WFH wardrobe is coming along nicely (this one happened without me actively working on it). I’m almost there with my wealthy life, my net worth goal is going up and up each month.
In terms of my career goals with the blog and content creation, I’ve managed to tick off two of them already! 3,500 followers on TikTok and 2,500 subscribers on YouTube.
It’s so important to reflect on the goals you’ve set. For the longest time, I felt like I hadn’t achieved anything this year and time was slipping away. That feeling that it was going to be another year of not achieving what I wanted. But the reality is, that a lot has happened and I’ve done more in these last nine months than I could have imagined.
So the goals for the rest of the year? I have some language goals that I had set myself and have had no progress, but we’ve got to thank the new season of Emily in Paris for my signing up to Babbel. I’m also way behind on my reading goal. However, I have optimism for the Autumn/ Winter months of this year. When the weather gets cooler and we’re spending more time inside, I think this is where I’m going to shine with hunkering down.
So the lessons from this rambling post? That I’m back and I have a plan for content creation to be more regular. I’ve achieved more than I thought I had with my new year goals and I’ve got plenty of time to tick over more before the end of 2024. There’s a new feeling in the air with the start of September and I look forward to embracing it fully.
