Fig Jam, Prosciutto & Rocket Pizza
A Fresh Pizza to Enjoy this Late Summer…
The plan was to share this recipe during the high of summer. However, as my last post suggests, the mini-posting break I took stopped this. However, with the joys of this late summer we’re having, I feel that you could absolutely enjoy this fig jam, prosciutto and rocket pizza as an easy weekend meal.
Since purchasing the Ooni oven for my husband, we’ve very much taken up the mantle of homemade pizzas only in our house. Has that stopped the odd takeaway pizza coming over the threshold? Mind your business. Call it research, our local independent pizzeria does fantastic combinations that we like to ‘sample’ so we can attempt to recreate them later.
Our freezer is always stocked with homemade pizza dough (Lee has promised a recipe soon). This means that at a moment’s notice, we can make our own pizzas as and when. When it comes to pizza making, we like to elevate things. Our goal is to not make anything basic, even the humble margarita. This is where the invention of fig jam, prosciutto and rocket pizza.

Fig Jam, Prosciutto & Rocket Pizza.
I love the mixture of meat with fruit. Fig and prosciutto go together perfectly. This pizza is delicious. It’s light, and simple but elevated. It’s ideal for a late evening garden party, paired with a glass of white wine and a great playlist. I also think this would be a great option for a large gathering paired with other flavours.
Fig Jam, Prosciutto & Rocket Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 pizza base
- 1 fig
- 1 tbsp fig jam
- 1 mozzarella ball
- 4 prosciutto slices
- handful of rocket
Instructions
- Make your pizza base (Lee's recipe coming soon). Roll out your base ready to add the ingredients to.
- Spread the fig jam across the base. Chop the fig into quarters and scatter it on the pizza, I like to make a pattern. Add your prosciutto to the base, tearing it into pieces.
- Tear your mozzarella and add to the pizza base. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook your pizza as you would normally (via home oven or specialise pizza oven). Once cooked to perfection, add the rocket on top with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar glaze. Slice, serve and enjoy.
