DIY Renter Friendly Fireplace Makeover
Adding a Touch of Traditional to our Rental Living Room…
It’s better late than never! It’s been ages since I did this DIY renter friendly fireplace makeover and I’m so excited to show it off. If you recall my previous fireplace makeover and you’ve seen my Instagram in recent months, then you’ll know that my old makeover was in need of an upgrade.
With my new style being incorporated into our home, I wanted to go in a different direction to peel & stick marble. I love traditional red brick fireplaces, and it turns out, you can do it in a renter friendly way.
To create this DIY renter friendly fireplace makeover, I needed some peel & stick tiles. I managed to find these ones on Amazon and they were perfect for the job. Now, they are very fake-looking but for a temporary home, they will do. However, I did want to make them look a little realistic, so I decided to overlay them with some white paint, so they looked over-grouted and white-washed.

Overall, I’m so happy with this makeover. It really makes the brass pop and brings a classic feel to the space. It’s gorgeous and is such a focus point of the home. I’m so happy with our living room now, our rental home is coming together!
