Duping Products I’m Desperate to Have in My Home…

I’m once again back with another DIY project. This time I’m doing a DIY woven circle home decor. This time, I’ve been inspired by this McGee & Co woven object. I think this object is so pretty, it adds so much texture and tone to a home and I really wanted to add it to my space.

As with all my home decor projects, the reason for working on this was for two reasons. The first being I saw the price and figured that I could create this for a fraction of the cost (which I did). The second being that we cannot get McGee & Co here in the UK (without paying a fortune in custom fees). Once again, putting out a personal plea that if there is anyone from Team McGee reading this, I will happily help with getting a warehouse here in the UK so you can expand your operations.

Back to the DIY woven circle home decor the DIY itself was fairly straightforward. The base was so easy to create with spray paint and leftover wood. The most time consuming thing was wrapping the raffia around the wire circle to create the decorative point.

Now when it came to the actual materials, the only thing that I wish I could have done was use corn husk, which is what the original decor piece is made of. This is not readily available here in the UK and the raffia still allows me to have that natural textured look.
