An Update to Our Upstairs Hallway
A Much Needed Refresh on a Forgotten Space…
Our upstairs hallway has needed a refresh for the longest time. However, time and just general forgetfulness has left the updates just sitting on the to-do list forever. However, one weekend I had some free time and decided to get them ticked off.
As you may have seen on my recent webisode, I only had three things to tick off. The first was to paint the banister, I had some small spots to touch up and I also wanted to change the colour of the banister. The last paint I used had some blue undertones and looked navy in some lights. I went for a true black called Caviar by Valspar and its perfect for the space.
The next thing was to remove the film from the small upstairs hallway window. It was already peeling and needed coming off. Turns out, I didn’t need to wait to do it, it was so easy to take off. Plus, very satisfying.
Finally, I needed to sew a new seat cushion cover for the hallways bench. I wanted to bring some pattern and texture to the space. I love this William Morris print, it’s perfect, it brings in some nature to the space and works perfectly with my new interior style. I’m looking forward to bringing more of this pattern into our home.
