Fully Prepared for The Festive Season…
Yes, I know. I might be crazy for decorating our home for Christmas at the beginning of November. If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I’ve been planning to do this, pretty much from when I decorated my home for Fall. This year it has been one heck of a ride and with all the twist and turns we’ve had, I’ve not felt that we’ve had much to look forward to. So this year, I decided to decorate our home for Christmas earlier than I would do.
I wanted to make sure that I got to live in that festive spirit for the rest of the year. Though I do love Autumn, Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. I love the sense of community, that cosiness, the cheeriness that brings everyone joy. It’s a fabulous season to finish off the year. A new year and a fresh start.
When it came to decorating our home for Christmas this year, I wanted to bring in the warmth and cosiness. To help this I had a couple of purchases. These fabulous wooden trees from Homesense and some new baubles in a dark champagne colour from John Lewis. These subtle touches help keep my home looking neutral throughout the festive season, whilst also bringing in a sense of warmth. Personally, I think this is my best Christmas tree and decorating yet.
THE FINAL FESTIVE TOUCHES…
For the fireplace mantle, in comparison to last year, I decided to pair it back. Last year with my Christmas decor, I went very full-on. Very heavy on the foliage. However, this year, I decided to go with simple mantle styling. A light bit of flocked foliage, those fabulous wooden trees and some plain candles. Of course, no mantle is completed without some stockings. How else is Santa going to know where to put our smaller presents?
I’m so happy I decorated my home early for Christmas. As I sit writing this post up, the main lights are off and the tree is glistening away. It’s such a cosy feeling that I cannot wait to enjoy for the rest of 2020.
