A Simple Way to Add a Touch of Neutral into Your Home…

I love neutral cushions. It’s the simplest and easiest way to add texture and softness to your furnishings. The main place that I have them is on my sofa. Stacked up to perfection. Neutral cushions are not just to pull in the decor of my home. Having the right type of cushions is also great for back support and getting cosy on the sofa with a good box set.

When choosing neutral cushions there are three things to consider. Firstly the size of your cushions. I love a big boxy cushion but you have to mix it up with some smaller ones. However, I love a combination of square ones with rectangles, just for different angels and range. It gives such depth to your sofa/ bed and looks great in a photo on Instagram.

Next is the texture of the pillows. Personally, I love more natural textures than synthetic. To go with the neutral tones, I’d recommend linens, cotton, velvets. Tuffles, tassels and poms add to that natural feel and look. I also find that a but if texture gives the cushion a more luxe look. Elevating your sofa and making it look chic.

Finally, we need to talk about colour. However, neutral doesn’t mean all beige. In fact, quite the opposite. I like at add a few pops of colour again to add interest and brightness into your home. Therefore, it can be a fabulous sage green, dark pink or a yellow. I would always advise looking for what pops of colour you have around your home and incorporate them into the cushions. However, if you’re still stuck, have a look inside your wardrobe. It will point you in the right direction.
