A GOOD Old Fashion Game’s Night…

I don’t know about you, but a good old fashion game night has come back into being a thing that we all do. With all of us doing what we can to reduce our contact and stay indoors, we’ve all been finding ways to stay inside and entertain ourselves. For my family, we’ve been trying to do what we can to stop the boredom that doesn’t involve the TV or a screen.

As I announced on my Instagram Stories, I’ve moved to the jigsaw part of quarantine. I’ve always loved a good puzzle but just never had the time for them. Recently, Lee and I have been working on some second-hand ones and now I’m really interested in investing in some of my own. I love this one, in particular, it’s so modern and gorgeous! It has, however, taken over my coffee table and it’s killing me. Might have to look into investing in a board so we can hide them under the sofa until complete.

FAMILY-FRIENDLY FUN.

Something else that my husband and I have loved playing is chess. My dad taught me how to play and I’ve enjoyed flexing my muscles again. This travel size one is perfect for placing in a drawer once done. Out of sight, out of mind.

Game-wise, it’s hard with only two of us in the house (and I can only imagine how difficult it is when you’re on your own). We’ve been sticking to things that test our general knowledge, like these quiz cards. Or for a classic game night fun, you cannot go wrong with scrabble. Ideal for two people to play in the afternoon.

I also think every household should have a pack of cards. But rather than be boring, why not invest in a gorgeous deck that you’d be happy to have on show to everyone. I’d love to show off these William Morris’ ones. I might have to invest in them this summer!

Whatever you’re doing to have some fun with a game night, just make sure you do the following things. Have a glass of wine or cocktail in hand, turn off the TV and have some good old fashion jazz music playing in the background. Combine all that with a wrap dress or long cardi and you’ll feel like a sophisticated woman who just lounge’s at leisure in her home…
