Leeds Eats: Ibérica Leeds
If you asked me where was my favourite place to eat in Leeds, there’s one place that comes to mind straight away. I fell in love with Iberica Leeds on my first visit (lunch date with a good friend.) And now whenever I get the chance to choose a place to go for dinner, this is my go-to place. It ticks all the boxes for me; good food, gorgeous decor and fabulous drinks.
So when the lovely guys at Iberica Leeds invited me to try their new Spring/ Summer dishes on their menu, I jumped at the chance. Grabbing my ride-or-die gal pal Lucinda, we headed into Leeds city centre and tucked into some gorgeous food…
Iberica Leeds…
Before I start with the food, let’s talk decor. Quite a number of times, I’ve visited in the evenings so I took full opportunity to take pictures of this place with natural light (many more grabbed for Instagram as you can see here.) The place oozes luxury and the mixture of light walls, velvet textures, vintage lighting and dark wood. My favourite bit? It has to be the ceilings. The place oozes glamour. Seriously worth a visit just to stare at the decor. It’s the ultimate wow-me place to take someone if you’re wanting to impress them. Perhaps, the perfect first date location? It’s that pleasant blast from past, a nice 1920’s vibe. Also, for those keen Instagrammers out there, the tables are perfect for your foodie flatlays…
THE NEW MENU.
The food is always exceptional. My favourite thing on the menu is their cured meat selection or their artisan cheese selection. Perhaps both at the same time. Okay, always both at the same time. For the ultimate treat, always go for their Iberico ham. Iberico ham is always the best. On the main menu, you cannot go wrong with their Vermouth mussels- they will even give extra bread so you can mop up the sauce.
So what should you be having from the new Summer menu? The first thing you should try is their Albóndigas. It patatas bravas, but ten times better. The beef tomato & salmorejo is okay and tasty, but it’s not a wow- dish. For that, I would order the poached hake. It’s incredibly tasty and perfect with a glass of white wine. A total winner. The best thing about tapas is that it’s all about order multiple dishes and sharing. Three dishes each shared between us was the perfect amount for the two of us to share.
The best thing about Iberica Leeds is that it’s perfect for any occasion. As I’ve previously said, it’s ideal for a first date. It’s also the perfect place to celebrate an occasion, perhaps a graduation, your gorgeous mother’s birthday or an anniversary. This is where Lee and I celebrate our first year anniversary.
